St. Paul's Church Choir
Ours is a numerically small, yet enthusiastic and, whenever possible, four-part choir affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music. Under the leadership of Linda Carrington (organist), the choir practices weekly on either Wednesday evenings or on Sunday mornings; taking August off as an annual holiday from both practices and Sunday services.
In the past, the choir has sung major works, including the Faure Requiem, the Vivaldi Gloria, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb and parts of Handel’s Brockes Passion. Until recently it was able to sing an anthem each Sunday at the main Eucharist. As we are keen to revive this tradition, new members will be made most welcome at any time - previous choral experience, though desirable, is not essential. Vacancies exist in all four parts – irrespective of the size of the choir!
