The Friends of St. Paul's Fundraising Shop
Our shop is located at the corner of Woodlands and Rossall Road in a prominent position at the heart of the village; thereby it has given the church a meaningful presence within the community. There is a spacious shop-floor is large designed to display goods donated for sale whilst there is also a seated area to the rear area where visitors may sit and talk with staff or friends.
The basement comprises two rooms where donated goods are examined, priced and stored until ready for display in the shop. Goods which we are unable to sell are held here until recycling arrangements are made or, if appropriate, to pass on to other charities. There is also a small office area located here.
The shop gives us an opportunity to serve our local community in a wide variety of ways:
- on the first Saturday of each month, an inter-denominational Prayer Breakfast meets in the shop before it opens for
- representatives from the local Churches Together initiative meet in the shop monthly to discuss and plan joint activities and ecumenical services
Under the auspices and direction of the PCC, the shop manager is supported by a Shop Management Committee and a team of volunteers both from the church family and from elsewhere within the community; these have included young people from local schools taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and clients of Fylde Community Link.
The shop not only helps St Paul's financially but it has taken our mission and outreach back into the community, allowing us to spread the Good News more widely.
The shop is open from Monday to Saturday (10am to 4.30pm each day) and accepts all donations of clothes, shoes, linen, books, children’s clothes and toys, bric a brac etc. and small pieces of furniture.
If you would like to know more about the shop; to volunteer; or to donate goods, the manager, Victoria Pallister will be delighted to speak with you; contact by telephone (01253) 732253 or by email.
